关于地图
Manokwari Map Poster & Print
Manokwari lies on the north-eastern tip of the Bird's Head Peninsula of New Guinea, spread around the curve of Doreri Bay. The town follows the shoreline in a loose, irregular pattern, with roads climbing onto green hills just behind the coast and the forested Arfak Mountains rising further inland. It is the capital of West Papua province and home to Universitas Papua.
Across the bay lies Mansinam Island, where the German missionaries Carl Ottow and Johann Geissler landed on 5 February 1855, the start of Christian missionary work in Papua. The date is still marked each year across the region, and the island has become a pilgrimage site. The Arfak range, home to several indigenous communities, is known for its birdlife.
A Manokwari map poster is shaped mostly by water. The bay's curve defines the town, Mansinam and the smaller Lemon Island sit offshore as clean outlines, and streets thin out quickly as the hills rise. The result is an open, coastal composition with the town held in a narrow band between sea and forest.

Mansinam Island
The historic island lies just offshore, a compact shape in the bay that recalls the arrival of the first missionaries in 1855.
Hills behind town
Roads wind up into the hills behind the coast, and the built-up area ends where forested slopes begin, leaving a clear edge to the settlement.
