关于地图
Maroúsi Map Poster & Print
Maroúsi lies in the northern suburbs of Athens, on rising ground between the basin and the foothills of Mount Penteli. From above, it combines two scales. There is a tight weave of residential streets around the old centre, and there are the broad parcels of office campuses, shopping centres and sports facilities along the main arterial roads.
The name is traditionally linked to Amarysia Artemis, a goddess worshipped in ancient Attica. Its best-known modern landmark is the Athens Olympic Sports Complex, the main venue of the 2004 Summer Olympics, whose stadium roof was designed by Santiago Calatrava. Kifisias Avenue and the Attiki Odos motorway make it one of the region's major business districts.
A Maroúsi map poster shows these contrasts clearly. Kifisias Avenue forms a long diagonal, while the Olympic complex opens a large area of stadiums, halls and plazas. Around them, the finer grain of suburban Athens fills every remaining gap. The map records a place that has changed a great deal within a single generation.

Suburban street weave
