关于地图
Matale Map Poster & Print
Matale lies in the Central Province of Sri Lanka, in a valley north of Kandy on the main road toward the ancient cities of the dry zone. The town stretches along this route in a long, narrow form, with its main streets following the valley floor and residential lanes climbing the lower slopes. On the map, this gives Matale a clear linear shape framed by hills.
The region has long been known for its spice gardens, and the town is associated with a remarkable moment in Buddhist history. At the Aluvihare rock temple just north of the centre, the Pali Canon is traditionally said to have been written down for the first time, in the first century BCE. In town, the Sri Muthumariamman Hindu temple is another well-known landmark.
A Matale map poster shows the town's close relationship with the terrain: the main road running through the valley, streets branching up the side slopes, streams descending from the hills and the Knuckles mountain range further to the east. In monochrome, the contrast between the dense centre and the open, hilly land around it gives the print a calm, layered feel.

Aluvihare rock temple
Set among boulders just north of the town, the temple complex is linked with the first writing down of the Pali Canon.
Surrounding hills
Forested ridges and spice gardens rise around the valley, giving the edges of the map a softer and more irregular texture than the centre.

为什么选Matale
一张有意义的地图
Matale means different things to different people: a childhood in the valley, a pilgrimage to Aluvihare, a stop on the way to Dambulla and Sigiriya. A map of the town brings those associations together in one restrained image.
Set your own title and subtitle, keep or edit the coordinates line, and choose one of five styles, from Classic black & white to Blueprint. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries, or you can print the HD files yourself.
