Riverfront town
The urban area is a compact strip of streets along the water's edge. Its shape follows the shoreline rather than an inland plan.

关于地图
Melgaço Map Poster & Print
Melgaço is a municipality in the Marajó region of Pará, in the Brazilian Amazon, and its map is written in water. The town sits on the bank of a broad waterway, with a short stretch of streets running along the shore. Behind it, the forest closes in quickly, crossed by rivers, channels and inlets that serve as the main routes through the area.
The municipality covers a large area, much of it forest. It includes part of the Caxiuanã National Forest, a protected area used for long-term scientific research. On a map, this means a wide field of green threaded with winding rivers and very few roads.
A Melgaço map poster is unusual for a city print. The waterfront settlement is a small, precise cluster, while the rivers around it draw long, looping lines across the sheet. It is a portrait of a place where boats matter more than streets, rendered with the restraint of a minimalist line map.

Winding waterways
Rivers and channels loop and branch through the surrounding forest. They form the most expressive lines on the map and are the region's real transport network.
Caxiuanã forest
Part of the Caxiuanã National Forest lies within the municipality. This large protected area appears as open space crossed only by rivers.

为什么选Melgaço
一张有意义的地图
Melgaço speaks to people from the Marajó region and to anyone who has travelled or worked along these Amazon waterways. The map is more about rivers than streets, so it makes an unexpected and memorable piece for a wall.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with the date of a journey. Choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. There is a free watermarked preview to check the result before buying the $9 HD files.
