Border with Ile-Ife
Modakeke runs directly into Ile-Ife, so the map shows a continuous urban area in which the line between the two towns is invisible but locally significant.

关于地图
Modakeke Map Poster & Print
Modakeke sits immediately beside Ile-Ife, in Osun State in south-western Nigeria, and on a map the two towns run into each other with little open space between them. Modakeke's streets form a dense, organic network of lanes and compounds, typical of older Yoruba towns, with main roads cutting through and linking it to the wider region.
The town was founded in the nineteenth century by people who settled here during a period of upheaval in the Oyo region, and its history is closely bound to that of its larger neighbour. Relations between Ife and Modakeke have at times been difficult, and the boundary between them remains an important local reality.
A Modakeke map poster shows a place of close-knit neighbourhoods rather than grand plans. The streets curve and branch, blocks are irregular, and the edges of town thin out into farmland and low, wooded hills. It is a map best read closely, the way residents know the town, one street at a time.

Organic street pattern
Narrow lanes, irregular blocks and family compounds give the town a dense, branching layout that has grown over generations rather than being planned.
Surrounding countryside
Beyond the built-up area, streets give way to farms, bush and low hills, softening the outer edges of the map.

为什么选Modakeke
一张有意义的地图
For people from Modakeke, the town's streets carry family history and a strong sense of identity. A map of it is a way to hold that close, particularly for those who have moved to Lagos, Ibadan or further afield.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, and there are five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. A family or compound name in the subtitle makes a thoughtful gift.
