Pacific shoreline
A long, curving coast with beaches runs past the town. It gives the poster a strong, sweeping edge along one side.

关于地图
Mollendo Map Poster & Print
Mollendo lies on Peru's southern coast in the Arequipa region, where the desert meets the Pacific. From above, the town sits on a narrow strip between arid hills and the sea. Streets climb up from the shoreline, the old port area sits on the coastal edge, and a chain of beaches stretches south along the coast. Beyond the town, the desert spreads out almost untouched.
For many years Mollendo was the main port for Arequipa and the southern highlands, and the terminus of the railway that climbed inland toward Arequipa and beyond. The port later moved to nearby Matarani, and Mollendo became better known as a summer beach resort. To the south, the Mejía lagoons form a protected wetland on the coast, an unusual patch of water in the desert.
A Mollendo map poster brings together sea, town and desert. In black and white, the curving coastline and beaches form a clear edge, the compact town grid climbs the slope above them, and the empty land inland gives the composition space. It is a quiet image of a coastal town with a long working history.

Former rail port
The old harbour and railway area near the waterfront recall Mollendo's role as a gateway to Arequipa. Straight rail alignments still shape part of the plan.
Desert hills
Dry hills rise behind the town. They leave wide open space in the frame and emphasise the thin band of settlement along the coast.

为什么选Mollendo
一张有意义的地图
Arequipa families who spent summers on these beaches, and people with ties to the old port and railway, may feel a strong attachment to Mollendo. A minimal map keeps the coastline and the town in view year-round.
You can personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a family name or a favourite summer, and set the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Digital files cost $9 and come without a watermark.
