Münster Map Poster & Print
The centre of Münster is surrounded by the Promenade, a tree-lined ring built on the site of the old fortifications and now reserved largely for cyclists and pedestrians. Inside it, the streets curve around the cathedral and the Prinzipalmarkt, with its gabled merchants' houses. Outside, the city spreads in every direction, with the long Aasee lake reaching into the south-western districts.
In 1648, parts of the Peace of Westphalia, which ended the Thirty Years' War, were negotiated and signed in Münster's town hall. Today the city is known for its large university and for the bicycle, which is its most common way to get around. Both leave a mark on the map, with university buildings spread through the city and a dense network of cycling routes.
A Münster map poster draws its strength from the Promenade. The ring appears as a clear, closed line around the old town, providing a natural focal point, while the lake adds an open, elongated shape nearby. The composition feels ordered and calm, much like the city itself when seen from a bicycle.
