Mukeriān Map Poster & Print
Mukeriān is a town in Hoshiarpur district of Punjab, in the north of the state where the plains begin to rise toward the Shivalik foothills. The Beas flows a short distance away, and the land around the town is flat, fertile and densely farmed. On a map, the town appears as a compact core of bazaars and lanes, with newer colonies spreading along the main roads.
Its most distinctive feature is the Mukeriān Hydel Channel, a canal that draws water from the Beas to power a series of hydroelectric stations. It runs across the landscape in long, straight stretches, a precise engineered line that contrasts with the irregular lanes of the old town and the patchwork of surrounding fields.
