The Oka river
The broad Oka curves along the eastern edge of town, with floodplain and forest on the far bank. It gives the map a strong natural border and plenty of open space.

关于地图
Murom Map Poster & Print
Murom sits on the left bank of the Oka in the east of Vladimir Oblast, and from above the river sets the whole composition. The town climbs from the water onto a raised bank cut by ravines, with the historic centre close to the edge overlooking the Oka. Beyond it the streets form a looser grid, and forest and floodplain meadows spread along the opposite shore.
Murom is one of the oldest towns in Russia, mentioned in chronicles as early as 862. It is linked with the epic hero Ilya Muromets and with Saints Peter and Fevronia, whose feast day is celebrated in Russia as a day of family and love. Monasteries and churches still mark the old centre, and a cable-stayed bridge opened in 2009 crosses the Oka.
A Murom map poster keeps all of this in fine black line work: the curve of the river, the bridge running across it, the older streets near the bank and newer districts inland. The contrast between the dense town and the open land across the water gives the poster a calm, balanced look.

Historic centre
Near the high bank, the old streets surround monasteries and churches, forming a denser area of shorter blocks that draws the eye before the grid loosens further inland.
Oka bridge
The modern cable-stayed bridge crosses the river on a long diagonal, a clean straight line that ties the town to the road network on the eastern shore.
