Neiba Map Poster & Print
Neiba is the capital of Baoruco Province, in the southwest of the Dominican Republic. It sits in a dry valley between the Sierra de Neiba mountains to the north and the wide basin of Lake Enriquillo to the southwest. The lake is a salt lake below sea level and the largest in the Caribbean. The area around the town is known for growing grapes.
On a map, Neiba is a compact grid of streets with a central park and a church at its heart. The town is surrounded by fields, many of them irrigated, laid out in regular strips. To the north, the land rises steadily towards the mountains, while roads to the south and west lead down into the lake basin.
