Stanitsa grid
Streets run long and straight in two directions and create large rectangular blocks. This planned pattern sets the settlement apart from the older villages in the mountains.

关于地图
Nesterovskaya Map Poster & Print
Nesterovskaya is a large rural settlement in eastern Ingushetia, close to the border with Chechnya. It began as a Cossack stanitsa, and its plan still shows it. Long, straight streets form a regular grid with broad blocks of houses and gardens, which gives the map an orderly, spacious character.
The settlement lies on the plains north of the Caucasus foothills, in a landscape of fields, orchards and river valleys. Beyond the last streets the map fills with the rectangles of farm plots and the lines of rural roads. The mountains to the south fall outside the frame, but they set the direction of the rivers that cross the region.
Settlements like this one were planned as frontier villages, and their regular layout outlasted that original purpose. Today Nesterovskaya is a residential and farming community. A Nesterovskaya map poster shows it plainly: a disciplined grid of streets in open, cultivated land, with roads leading out toward neighbouring villages.

Garden plots
Deep plots behind the houses give each block a generous interior, so the street lines on the poster are widely spaced and calm.
Farmland surroundings
Fields and rural roads extend on all sides. Their lighter pattern of straight boundaries gradually replaces the denser streets of the village.
