Bayou Teche
The bayou curves through the heart of town in wide meanders. It is the strongest line on the map and sets the direction of the streets around it.

关于地图
New Iberia Map Poster & Print
New Iberia sits on Bayou Teche in south Louisiana and is the seat of Iberia Parish. The bayou shapes everything on the map. It winds through town in slow loops, and the older streets follow its bends instead of a single compass grid, so blocks meet at gentle angles and main roads run parallel to the water.
The town was founded in the late eighteenth century by Spanish settlers from Málaga, which explains the name. Its best-known landmark is Shadows-on-the-Teche, an antebellum house with gardens on the bayou. Readers of James Lee Burke know New Iberia as the home of his detective Dave Robicheaux, and Avery Island, home of Tabasco sauce, is a short drive away.
A New Iberia map poster works because of that single river line. The bayou's curves give the composition movement, the historic centre gathers along the water, and newer subdivisions and sugarcane country stretch outward in straighter, more regular patterns toward the edges.

Historic main street
The older commercial centre runs alongside the bayou, where streets bend to follow the water and the blocks are shorter and denser than in the newer districts.
Cane-country edges
Beyond town, long straight field boundaries and rural roads of sugarcane country form a quieter, linear pattern that frames the curving centre.

为什么选New Iberia
一张有意义的地图
New Iberia has a strong sense of place, with Cajun and Creole culture, bayou life and a literary reputation. For people from the Teche country or those who have followed it through fiction, a map is an understated way to keep that connection close.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a family name, a wedding date or a street, and pick from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper brings out the softness of the bayou's curves.
