Hadejia-Nguru wetlands
Lakes, channels and marshy ground spread near the town, forming irregular water shapes that contrast with the straight roads and give the map a natural edge.

关于地图
Nguru Map Poster & Print
Nguru lies in the north-west of Yobe State, near the border with Niger, on the flat, dry plains of the Nigerian Sahel. On a map the town appears as a compact settlement of sandy streets and household compounds with wide open land around it. Its layout is simple: a few main roads, a market area and residential quarters spreading outward.
What makes Nguru distinctive is its position at the edge of the Hadejia-Nguru wetlands, a seasonal floodplain formed by the Hadejia and Jama'are rivers. These wetlands, with lakes and channels that expand after the rains, are an important refuge for migratory birds and support fishing and farming in an otherwise arid region.
Nguru was also the terminus of a railway branch line from Kano, built during the colonial period to carry agricultural produce. A Nguru map poster shows a town where the lines of human settlement meet the shifting outlines of water, a quiet frontier between dry land and wetland in the northern Sahel.

The branch line from Kano ends at Nguru, arriving as a single straight line on the map, a reminder of the town's long role as a trading point.
Compact town plan
The built area is small and dense, with roads leading out from the centre into the open plains, making the town's shape easy to read at any print size.

为什么选Nguru
一张有意义的地图
Nguru is a map for people from Yobe and the wider north-east, for those who work in the wetlands, and for anyone drawn to places between water and dry land. It is spare, open and unusual on a wall.
Choose a title, add a subtitle such as a family name or a date, and edit the coordinates. Sand suits the Sahel landscape especially well, though Classic black and white, Noir, Paper and Blueprint are also available for the same view.
