Tolmachevo runways
Novosibirsk's main airport lies beside the town. Its runways and taxiways form the longest and straightest lines on the map, and they give the composition a strong horizontal pull.

关于地图
Ob’ Map Poster & Print
Ob' lies just west of Novosibirsk and takes its name from the great river that runs through the regional capital. From above, the most striking thing is its neighbour: the runways and aprons of Tolmachevo Airport, Novosibirsk's main airport, stretch alongside the town. Their long straight strips dominate the map far more than any single street.
The town itself has the ordered layout typical of Soviet-era planning. Residential blocks are arranged in regular groups, broad roads separate the districts, and the Trans-Siberian railway runs through the area with a station named after the town. Around it, the flat West Siberian landscape opens into fields and patches of birch forest.
An Ob' map poster brings three kinds of line into one frame: the geometry of the runways, the steady rhythm of the housing blocks and the railway cutting across both. In black and white it looks almost technical, like a diagram of how people and freight move across Siberia.

Trans-Siberian line
The Trans-Siberian railway passes through, with a station bearing the town's name. The tracks draw a firm line through the landscape, connecting Ob' eastward to Novosibirsk and the river.
Planned blocks
Residential districts are grouped into regular blocks separated by wide roads. This orderly pattern stands out against the open fields and scattered woodland around the town.
