Ōme Map Poster & Print
Ōme lies at the western edge of Tokyo Metropolis, where the Tama River leaves the mountains and enters the plain. The map shows a town stretched along the valley. Streets and the railway follow the river, and forested hills rise steeply on either side, leaving little room for expansion.
The town has a long history as a stop on the old road into the mountains. Its old centre keeps a retro atmosphere, with hand-painted cinema signboards that have become a local symbol. Ōme is also known for plum blossoms, which draw visitors each spring.
An Ōme map poster reveals a very different Tokyo from the dense city further east. It shows a narrow ribbon of streets between the river and the wooded slopes, the beginning of the route into Okutama and the mountains beyond.

Railway corridor
The rail line runs along the valley and links Ōme with central Tokyo. On the poster it traces the town's long, narrow shape almost exactly.
