关于地图
Ourilândia do Norte Map Poster & Print
Ourilândia do Norte is a municipality in the southeast of Pará, in the Brazilian Amazon. It is a young town that grew quickly in the late twentieth century as roads, farms and mining pushed into the region. Mining is still important, and a large nickel operation lies within the municipality. The wider area mixes cattle ranches, cleared land and remaining stretches of forest.
On the map, the town is a compact set of straight streets and rectangular blocks, laid out in the simple pattern common to new settlements on the Amazon frontier. The grid fades quickly into open land at its edges. Unpaved roads lead off in straight lines across the landscape, and streams wind through it, their courses traced by darker bands of remaining vegetation.
An Ourilândia do Norte map poster shows a frontier town in plain lines: a tidy grid set down in a vast landscape. In black and white, the contrast between the ordered streets and the irregular natural shapes around them is especially clear. It is a straightforward, honest portrait of one of the newer towns of the Brazilian north.

Rural roads
Long straight roads lead out of town towards farms and mining areas. They cut clean lines across the surrounding landscape.
Streams and forest
Winding watercourses and the vegetation along them break up the open land around the town and add softer natural shapes to the map.
