Padma floodplain
South of the town, the ground opens toward one of the great rivers of South Asia. On the poster this reads as wide, quiet space at the edge of the map.

关于地图
Pābna Map Poster & Print
Pābna lies in the Rajshahi Division, close to the north bank of the Padma, as the Ganges is known in Bangladesh. The land here is almost perfectly flat. Its shape comes from water: old river channels, ponds, seasonal wetlands and the wide floodplain, which set where roads and houses can go.
From above, the town is a dense, irregular network of lanes around a central area. Roads lead out to the surrounding villages and to the river. A small river winds through the town, and many ponds show up as small open spaces in the street pattern. Beyond them, fields and scattered settlements take over.
Pābna is widely known in Bangladesh for its long-established mental hospital, and it is the birthplace of the film actress Suchitra Sen. A Pābna map poster shows a delta town in its setting, tightly built at the centre and loosening toward the Padma plain.

Winding town river
A narrow river curves through the built-up area. The streets bend to follow it, which breaks up any strict grid.
Ponds and lanes
Many small ponds sit among dense lanes. They make small breaks in the street network, typical of towns across the Bengal delta.
