Central plaza
The main square sits at the heart of the grid, and the blocks around it are arranged in even rows. This keeps the town centre crisp and legible at any size.

关于地图
Punata Map Poster & Print
Punata lies in the Valle Alto, the high, broad valley east of the city of Cochabamba. From above, the town follows the Spanish colonial layout: a regular grid of blocks centred on a main plaza, with straight roads leading out across an almost level plain. The pattern is simple and orderly and reads clearly from any distance.
The valley floor around Punata is intensively farmed. Fields, irrigation channels and dry streambeds form a patchwork of irregular plots that fills the space between the town and the neighbouring villages. On the horizon, mountains close in on every side, and the map shows the point where the cultivated flatland meets rising, empty ground.
Punata is the capital of its province and an important market for the surrounding farming communities. The Valle Alto is known throughout Bolivia for its chicha, a fermented maize drink. A Punata map poster sets the orderly grid of the town against the open agricultural valley that supports it, a clear picture of how the place works.

Roads across the valley
Straight roads leave Punata for Cliza, Arani and Cochabamba. They draw long lines across the plain that tie the town to its neighbours.
Valle Alto farmland
Fields and irrigation lines surround the town on a nearly flat valley floor. Their soft texture contrasts with the regular blocks of the centre.
