关于地图
Qīr Moāv Map Poster & Print
Qīr Moāv is the Hebrew form of Kir of Moab, the ancient name associated with the hilltop town now known as Al-Karak in Jordan. The site is a steep, roughly triangular plateau with deep valleys cutting away on almost every side. From above, the town sits on this natural platform, with its streets tightly packed inside the line of the old walls.
At the southern end of the plateau stands Karak Castle, a large Crusader fortress built in the twelfth century and later held by the Ayyubids and Mamluks. On the map, its long, angular outline takes up the narrow tip of the hill. Beyond it, the ground falls away steeply to the valleys below.
A Qīr Moāv map poster shows how closely the town is tied to its terrain. The older streets follow the shape of the plateau, and newer districts spill down the slopes and along the ridges. Roads switch back and forth into the valleys, and the ancient King's Highway passes nearby on its way across the Jordanian uplands.

Hilltop plateau
The old town fills a raised, triangular platform with steep valleys on its flanks. Its outline is sharp and immediately recognisable from above.
Switchback roads
Roads descend in tight bends into the surrounding valleys. On the poster, these winding curves contrast with the compact grid on top of the hill.
