Rail corridor
A wide band of tracks and sidings runs through the centre of Renens. It is the strongest element on the poster and the reason the town grew as it did.

关于地图
Renens Map Poster & Print
Renens lies immediately west of Lausanne, in the canton of Vaud, and it is one of the most densely populated towns in Switzerland. On a map there is no gap between it and its neighbours: streets run continuously into Lausanne, Prilly, Crissier and Chavannes. The railway defines Renens most clearly, with a broad band of tracks crossing the town from east to west.
Renens station is one of the main rail junctions in western Switzerland. Lines toward Geneva and the Jura foot branch here from the Lausanne line, and a large rail yard stretches alongside. The town is also home to ECAL, the Lausanne university of art and design, housed in a former factory. EPFL and the University of Lausanne are just to the south, near Lake Geneva.
A Renens map poster shows a very urban pattern for a town of its size, with apartment blocks, industrial plots and small streets packed tightly around the rail corridor. It is a map of movement and density, a working town rather than a picturesque one. For students, rail workers and long-time residents, that honesty is the point.

ECAL building
The art and design school occupies a converted industrial building. It is a reminder of Renens' manufacturing past and a landmark for design students across Europe.
Towards the lake
South of town, the EPFL and UNIL campuses spread toward the shore of Lake Geneva. They add large open grounds and curving paths to the lower edge of the map.
