Ille and Vilaine
The two rivers meet near the centre, the Vilaine flowing through on stone quays and the Ille with its canal coming in from the north, giving the map a clear watery spine.

关于地图
Rennes Map Poster & Print
Rennes grew at the confluence of the Ille and the Vilaine, and from above the rivers are the first thing the eye follows. The Vilaine runs east to west through the middle of the city, straightened and lined with quays, while the Ille and its canal arrive from the north. Around it all, the rocade, a complete ring road, draws a clean oval that contains most of the city.
The historic centre shows two different textures. Timber-framed streets survived in the north, winding and narrow, while the area destroyed by the great fire of 1720 was rebuilt in regular stone blocks and squares around the Parlement de Bretagne. East of the centre, the Thabor garden forms a large green shape of paths and lawns.
Rennes is the capital of Brittany and a major university city, with an automated metro whose two lines cross beneath the centre. A Rennes map poster shows how rivers, old streets and the ring road fit together, a compact city with a clear outline that reads well in a single frame.

The rocade
A continuous ring road circles the city, and on the poster it frames the dense centre and inner suburbs like an outer border drawn around the whole composition.
Thabor garden
East of the old town, the Thabor garden spreads out as a large green space with curving paths, one of the most recognisable open shapes in central Rennes.

为什么选Rennes
一张有意义的地图
Rennes is often a city of student years, first jobs and Breton weekends. A map of its rivers and ring road makes a quiet reminder of that time, and its compact oval shape looks good at any print size.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a name, a date or a neighbourhood, then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Order the digital HD files for $9 or a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
