The Fortezza
The Venetian fortress covers the headland, and its star-shaped outline of walls and bastions makes one of the most recognisable shapes on the map.

关于地图
Rethymno Map Poster & Print
Rethymno lies on the north coast of Crete, between Chania and Heraklion. The shape of the town is easy to read from above. A rocky headland juts into the sea, crowned by the Fortezza, the large Venetian fortress. Just below it is the old town, a close network of narrow lanes, and beside that a small, rounded harbour.
The old town mixes Venetian and Ottoman layers. You can see arched doorways, wooden balconies, the Rimondi Fountain and minarets that once belonged to mosques. On a map, this appears as a very fine, irregular web of streets, much denser than the newer neighbourhoods around it. The Venetian harbour, with its lighthouse at the tip of the breakwater, forms a neat enclosed curve on the shoreline.
East of the old town, a long sandy beach runs along the coast, backed by a straight seafront road and the grid of newer Rethymno. Inland, the ground rises toward the mountains of central Crete. A Rethymno map poster shows the contrast between fortress, lanes, harbour and beach, making a varied composition from a fairly small place.

为什么选Rethymno
一张有意义的地图
Many people remember Rethymno from a summer on Crete: an evening in the harbour, a walk up to the fortress, mornings on the long beach. The map brings those places back together, and the fortress makes it easy to recognise.
Add a honeymoon date or a holiday year to the subtitle, and personalise the title and coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Buy a $9 HD download, or order a printed matte poster with an optional wooden frame.
