Rufino Map Poster & Print
Rufino sits in the far southwest of Santa Fe province, close to where Santa Fe meets Córdoba and Buenos Aires. From above it reads like many towns of the Argentine plains: a regular checkerboard of blocks, a central square, and a railway line cutting through the grid. The line explains why the town is here. It grew as a stop and junction on the rail network that crossed the Pampas.
Beyond the last built-up blocks, the land opens into large rectangular farm plots. Country roads run out in straight lines, and the pattern is broken mainly by shallow lagoons and low ground. The largest of these nearby is Laguna La Picasa, a body of water whose rising levels have flooded roads in the area more than once. The map shows plainly how flat and water-sensitive this landscape is.
A Rufino map poster keeps that simplicity. Tight blocks in the centre give way to a sparser outer ring, the railway draws a firm diagonal, and farmland spreads to the edges of the frame. In black and white the town looks like a careful drawing of how Pampas settlement worked: rail first, then a grid around it, then fields as far as the survey lines go.

Square blocks laid out around a main plaza make up the core. Printed, the pattern looks even and calm, with density thinning block by block toward the edges of town.
Lagoons to the west
Shallow lagoons, Laguna La Picasa the largest, sit in the low plain nearby. Their irregular shorelines are a sharp contrast to the ruler-straight roads and field boundaries around them.
