Close-knit lanes
The older residential areas are made up of narrow, closely spaced streets. On the poster they form a fine, dense texture that stands out against the open land around them.

关于地图
Sālamedu Map Poster & Print
Sālamedu lies on the flat coastal plain of northern Tamil Nadu, close to the town of Villupuram and inland from the Bay of Bengal. From above, the area shows the pattern common to this part of the state: residential streets packed closely together, main roads leading out toward the larger town, and cultivated land and water tanks where the built-up area ends.
The plain here is low and open, so its structure comes from roads and water rather than from hills. Irrigation tanks and channels show up as irregular shapes among the fields, and the rail lines that serve Villupuram, an important junction on the southern network, cross the wider area in long, straight lines.
A Sālamedu map poster records a place at the point where town meets countryside. Denser lanes sit beside newer, more spread-out plots, and the edges are still loose and unfinished. In black and white, that mix of close texture and open ground makes a quiet, readable composition that is very different from a planned city grid.

Tanks and fields
Water tanks and cultivated plots are typical of the plains around Villupuram. They appear as broad, softly outlined shapes that give the map its open areas and its sense of scale.
Roads to town
A few main roads link the settlement with Villupuram and the surrounding villages. They are the strongest lines in the composition and show the direction of everyday travel.

为什么选Sālamedu
一张有意义的地图
A map of Sālamedu is personal by nature. It is most often chosen by people with family roots here or who grew up in these streets, and it keeps a small place visible on a wall far from Tamil Nadu.
Write the place name in the title, add a family name or year in the subtitle, and keep or edit the coordinates line. Five styles are available: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
