关于地图
Saltash Map Poster & Print
Saltash stands on the west bank of the River Tamar in Cornwall, directly across the water from Plymouth in Devon. From above, the town climbs steeply from the riverbank, its streets winding up and along the slope, while the broad estuary curves past its eastern edge. Creeks and inlets reach inland from the river, giving the shoreline an irregular, deeply cut outline.
Two bridges define the town on any map. The Royal Albert Bridge, designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and opened in 1859, carries the railway across the Tamar, and the Tamar Bridge, opened in 1961, runs alongside it carrying the road. Together they take most traffic into Cornwall from the east, which is why Saltash is often called the gateway to the county.
A Saltash map poster brings together water, slope and engineering. The wide river gives the print a strong, open shape, the streets rise in dense lines from the shore, and the twin bridges cross the estuary in two straight strokes. It is a map with an obvious focal point and an unmistakable sense of place.

Tamar Bridge
The road bridge opened in 1961 runs parallel to Brunel's railway crossing, and on the map the two appear as a pair of lines spanning the estuary side by side.
Estuary creeks
Inlets and creeks branch off the Tamar around the town, cutting into the land and giving the waterline of the print its intricate, irregular shape.

为什么选Saltash
一张有意义的地图
Saltash is where many people feel they have arrived in Cornwall, or left it. A map with the bridges and the river at its centre suits anyone with ties to either side of the Tamar, and it works well in a hallway, an office or above a desk.
Change the title and subtitle to add a street name or a year, and adjust the coordinates line. Blueprint suits the engineering of the bridges, while Classic black & white and Noir bring out the water. HD files cost $9, with matte prints also available.
