Sari Map Poster & Print
Sari is the capital of Mazandaran province in northern Iran. It lies on the fertile lowland between the Alborz mountains and the Caspian Sea, a short distance inland from the coast. The Tajan River flows past the city, and on the map its curves mark one side of the urban area, with farmland and rice fields spreading around the edges.
The centre of the city is organised around a square with a clock tower, a well-known local landmark, and main streets radiate from it in several directions. To the south, the land rises toward forested foothills of the Alborz. This combination of river, lowland and mountains gives Sari a very different setting from the dry cities of central Iran.
