Segamat Map Poster & Print
Segamat is the main town of Johor's northernmost district, close to the borders with Pahang and Negeri Sembilan. The Segamat River winds through the town, and on a map it divides the settlement into distinct halves joined by a few bridges. Around them, a mix of shophouse streets, residential estates and schools forms a compact but irregular urban footprint.
The town is a stop on the main north–south railway line through the peninsula, and the tracks cut a long, confident line across the map. Beyond the built-up area, the land is dominated by oil palm and rubber plantations, whose regular rows and access roads create a distinctive pattern. Low forested hills rise in the surrounding countryside.
The river has shaped more than the layout; Segamat has faced serious floods in some years, and the relationship between town and water is part of local memory.
