Sevlievo Map Poster & Print
Sevlievo lies in north-central Bulgaria, in the foothills north of the Balkan Mountains, on the Rositsa river. The river passes the town and shapes its outline, and the streets rise gently away from it toward the surrounding hills. A large reservoir on the Rositsa lies a short distance upstream.
The town has a long history as a market and craft centre and played a part in the Bulgarian National Revival of the nineteenth century. Several buildings from that period survive in the centre, including a clock tower. Today Sevlievo is known for its industry, especially the production of ceramic sanitaryware.
A Sevlievo map poster shows a compact centre of narrow, irregular streets, surrounded by the larger blocks of later housing districts and industrial areas. The river and the roads toward Gabrovo and Lovech set the direction of the map. The farmland around it stays open and calm at the edges.

The oldest part of town has a tight tangle of streets around the central square. It is denser and less regular than the districts built later.
Foothill setting
Low hills and farmland surround Sevlievo on every side. Roads spread out across them toward neighbouring towns in the Gabrovo and Lovech regions.
