关于地图
Sirte Map Poster & Print
Sirte lies on Libya's central coast, on the shore of the Gulf of Sirte, roughly halfway between Tripoli and Benghazi. On a map the city is drawn against a long, clean coastline, with the sea to the north and the flat, open desert extending to the south.
The street plan combines an older core with large planned districts laid out in wide avenues and broad blocks, many of them following the coast. The coastal highway crosses the city from east to west, and beyond the last streets the map empties quickly into sand and scrub, leaving the urban area sharply defined.
Sirte was heavily damaged during the conflicts of 2011 and 2016, and parts of the city have since been rebuilt. A Sirte map poster presents the city's underlying structure, its coastline, avenues and districts, as a calm black-and-white drawing without taking the place of the lived experience of the city.

Planned avenues
Wide roads and large blocks in the newer districts form a clear, geometric structure, standing out from the finer grain of the older parts of the city.
Desert edge
South of the city the streets end abruptly, and the open desert appears as broad, empty space, giving the map a stark, uncluttered frame.

为什么选Sirte
一张有意义的地图
For Libyans from Sirte and their families abroad, a map of the city can hold memories of streets and neighbourhoods that have changed a great deal. It records the shape of home in a way that is quiet rather than dramatic.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line yourself, for example with a neighbourhood name or a year, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download or order a printed poster.
