Vyatka River
The Vyatka sweeps past the town in a broad curve, with side channels and meadows on the opposite bank, giving the map a strong natural boundary on one side.

关于地图
Slobodskoy Map Poster & Print
Slobodskoy stands on the Vyatka River in Kirov Oblast, a short way upstream from the regional capital. It is one of the older towns of the Vyatka lands, and from above its historic centre follows a regular pattern of streets laid out on the riverbank, with the broad, looping course of the Vyatka and its floodplain meadows shaping the edge of the town.
For centuries Slobodskoy was a trading town, and its merchants dealt in goods that moved along the river and the northern trade routes. The older part of town still carries the traces of that period in its churches and stone buildings, while later districts spread inland away from the water in wider, simpler blocks.
A Slobodskoy map poster captures the relationship between the town and its river. The Vyatka curves across the page in a wide band, old channels and oxbow lakes scatter across the floodplain, and the town's streets meet the river in a neat, measured way that reflects its planning as a provincial centre.

Historic centre
The oldest streets form a regular grid near the river, a legacy of provincial town planning that remains easy to read in the layout of the centre.
Floodplain lakes
Across the river the floodplain is marked by old meanders and small lakes, which appear as scattered curved shapes and give the map texture and depth.
