Sobue Map Poster & Print
Sobue lies on the Nōbi Plain in western Aichi Prefecture, not far from the Kiso River and the border with Gifu. It was an independent town until it merged into the city of Inazawa. The land is almost completely flat. On a map, small clusters of houses, winding lanes and rectangular fields create a finely detailed pattern.
The area is known in Japan for its ginkgo trees and the ginkgo nuts harvested from them. In autumn the golden leaves become a seasonal attraction, and trees stand around houses and shrines throughout the district. The planting once helped shelter homes from the strong winter winds that sweep across the plain.
A Sobue map poster presents a rural-suburban landscape rather than a city centre. Railway lines cross the plain in straight strokes, while older lanes curve between farmhouses and fields. The result is a delicate, low-contrast pattern that rewards a close look and suits a larger print size.

Straight railway tracks cross the district. They link Sobue with Inazawa, Nagoya and Gifu, and cut clear lines through the softer village pattern.
Village lanes
Older lanes wind between houses, shrines and ginkgo-shaded plots. They follow a looser, more organic pattern than the modern roads.
