Lake Senezh
The largest shape on the map, a broad lake with a ragged, wooded shoreline that sets the whole composition off-centre and gives the town its sense of place.

关于地图
Solnechnogorsk Map Poster & Print
From above, Solnechnogorsk is shaped by water. Lake Senezh spreads beside the town, its irregular shoreline breaking into coves and wooded points, while the streets fill the higher ground next to it. The main road from Moscow to St Petersburg and the parallel railway pass along one side, so the town reads as a band of blocks stretched between a lake and two long transport lines.
The name translates roughly as sunny hill, and the settlement grew up as a stop on the old post road northwest of Moscow. Senezh was enlarged in the nineteenth century as part of a canal scheme meant to link the Volga and Moskva river basins. The waterway saw little traffic and was soon abandoned, but the lake stayed, and today its shores are lined with pine woods, dachas and sanatoriums rather than barges.
A Solnechnogorsk map poster works best when the frame takes in enough of the lake to show its full, uneven outline. In black and white the water becomes one calm, open shape, the housing blocks turn into fine texture, and the highway draws a straight line along the edge, giving the composition a natural balance between built ground and open space.

The highway corridor
The Moscow to St Petersburg road and the railway run past the town in long parallel strokes, the most direct lines anywhere on the sheet.
Forest margins
Beyond the last residential streets the grid gives way to woodland and scattered dacha plots, where the lines thin out into loose, irregular lanes.

为什么选Solnechnogorsk
一张有意义的地图
Solnechnogorsk is the kind of place people remember by the lake: summers on the water, weekends outside Moscow, a first flat near the station. A map of it keeps that geography in view in a quiet way that suits a hallway, a study or a country house.
The poster can carry a personal title and subtitle, such as a family name or a date, and the coordinates line can be adjusted. Choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, depending on whether you want the lake to read dark or light.
