The sheltered inlet
A long arm of the sea reaches into the town, and its uneven shoreline forms the strongest shape on the map, pulling the eye from open water toward the harbour.

关于地图
Susaki Map Poster & Print
Susaki sits on the Pacific side of Shikoku, in Kochi Prefecture, where a narrow bay pushes inland and the coast breaks into small coves and headlands. From above, the town reads as a compact grid of streets packed onto the flat ground at the head of the inlet, with steep green slopes closing in on almost every side.
The drawing is shaped by the contrast between the dense harbour district and the empty, contour-heavy hills around it. Roads and a rail line thread along the valley floors, and the irregular shoreline gives the edges of the print a jagged, handmade quality. A Susaki map poster turns that meeting of sea, town and mountain into a quiet study of line.
Outside Japan the town is little known, though within the country it is associated with its nabeyaki ramen, served bubbling in a clay pot, and with a small otter mascot that became a national favourite. On paper, though, the harbour is the part you notice first.

Town on the flats
Streets crowd the limited level ground at the head of the bay, creating a dense pocket of fine lines against the open space of water and hillside.
Hills on every side
Forested slopes rise directly behind the town, leaving only a few valley roads leading inland and giving the composition a clear, enclosed frame.

为什么选Susaki
一张有意义的地图
For people from Kochi, or anyone who has travelled the southern Shikoku coast, Susaki is a very specific place: fishing boats, steep hills and a slow harbour town. A print keeps that geography in view long after the trip or the move.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a family name or a date that matters, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit the room it will hang in.
