Ridge roads
The main streets follow the high ground and gentle slopes. This gives the map a flowing, organic structure instead of a strict grid.

关于地图
Tafo Map Poster & Print
Tafo lies in the northern part of Kumasi, the capital of Ghana's Ashanti Region, and is one of the city's older and more populous suburbs. It has long been a place to live and trade. Today it is part of the continuous urban area that spreads outward from central Kumasi in every direction.
Kumasi is built on rolling ground, and Tafo is no exception. Roads follow the ridges and valleys, curving around slopes instead of cutting straight across them. Between the main routes, smaller streets and lanes form a dense, irregular mesh of housing, workshops, churches, schools and local markets that fills almost every available space.
A Tafo map poster captures this pattern as a web of curves and junctions, with major roads leading back toward the city centre and the rest of Kumasi. Occasional open spaces and valleys break up the density. The neighbourhood looks shaped by the land as much as by planning.

Dense residential mesh
Smaller lanes fill the spaces between the main roads in an intricate pattern. It reflects decades of steady growth in one of Kumasi's established suburbs.
Links to the centre
Major roads connect Tafo south to central Kumasi. They draw strong lines through the composition and place the suburb within the wider city.
