Branching lanes
Narrow roads and paths wind through the area, dividing into smaller lanes that reach individual homes. On the poster they form a fine, tree-like network across the page.

关于地图
Talattala Map Poster & Print
Talattala lies in southern Kerala, a short distance inland from the city of Kollam and the Arabian Sea coast. Like much of this part of the state, it has no single dense centre. On a map, houses and lanes spread fairly evenly across the land, following gentle rises and hollows, while a few main roads carry traffic toward Kollam and neighbouring towns.
The pattern is typical of Kerala's continuous settlement, where villages and suburbs merge into one another and gardens of coconut palms and other trees fill the spaces between houses. Low ground holds paddy fields, streams and ponds. A Talattala map poster captures that fine, even texture, a landscape where town and countryside are hard to tell apart.
In black and white the narrow lanes become a delicate branching network, with ponds and streams scattered among them as organic shapes. Nearby Kollam, a port since the days of the old spice trade, gives the area its wider context. The map is detailed and quietly absorbing, especially for anyone who knows its paths by heart.

Paddies and ponds
Lower ground is given over to paddy fields, streams and small ponds. They appear as soft, irregular shapes that break up the dense pattern of lanes.
Roads toward Kollam
A few larger roads link Talattala with Kollam and neighbouring towns. They are the clearest lines on the map and give the composition its structure.

为什么选Talattala
一张有意义的地图
Many Keralites live far from home, in other Indian cities or abroad, and a map of their own village or neighbourhood can mean more than any photograph. It also makes a thoughtful gift for a family home.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a family house name, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 files print cleanly at any of the six sizes.
