Tallinn Map Poster & Print
Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, lies on a bay of the Gulf of Finland. Its best-known feature on the map is the Old Town, a compact, irregular web of medieval streets that is still partly enclosed by walls and towers. On one side, Toompea hill rises as a separate upper town with its own tight cluster of lanes.
Around the Old Town, a ring of green parks follows the line of the former moats and fortifications. Beyond that ring, the modern city spreads out: the port and ferry terminals to the north, the Kopli peninsula to the west, and Kadriorg Park with its palace to the east. Lake Ülemiste sits to the south, near the airport.
The Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site, one of the best-preserved medieval centres of the Hanseatic Baltic. A Tallinn map poster shows how that small walled core sits inside a city of coastline, forest parks and long waterfront roads.
