Paddy geometry
Rice fields create a fine mosaic of rectangles across the flat ground, a pattern that reads beautifully in monochrome.

关于地图
Tamaru Map Poster & Print
Tamaru lies in Mie Prefecture, in the countryside southwest of Ise, and is now part of Tamaki town. This is a landscape of low hills and cultivated plains. Villages cluster along roads and waterways, and rice paddies fill the flat ground between them in the careful rectangular patterns found across rural Japan.
From above, the map has a gentle rhythm. Small groups of houses sit along winding lanes, larger roads link them across the paddies, and a railway cuts a straight line through the scene. Where the land rises, the fields end and wooded hills take over, marked by the absence of streets.
A Tamaru map poster is a portrait of a place most visitors pass on the way to somewhere else, and it is worth looking at closely. The balance between settlement and farmland, and between straight infrastructure and curving country roads, gives the print a restrained, almost textile-like quality.

Rail corridor
A railway line runs through the area in a long, steady line, contrasting with the meandering village lanes around it.
Wooded hills
Forested high ground frames the cultivated plain, leaving calm white areas where the street network gives way to the slopes.
