Una Map Poster & Print
Una is the headquarters of Una district in Himachal Pradesh, close to the state's border with Punjab. Unlike the steep mountain towns further north, it sits in a wide, relatively flat valley drained by the Swan river. From above, the town appears as a fairly regular spread of streets on the valley floor, with ridges rising on either side.
The Swan is a broad, braided river that once flooded often, and major works have been undertaken to channel it. On the map its wide bed stands out as a pale band with channels running through it. Una district is also known for the Chintpurni temple, one of the important pilgrimage sites in Himachal Pradesh, in the hills north of the town.
A Una map poster shows a hill-state town at its most open, with roads fanning across the valley toward Punjab and toward the Shivalik ridges. It works well at medium zoom, where the town, the railway and the broad riverbed all remain clearly legible together on a single sheet.
