Section-line grid
Major roads run straight at regular mile intervals, as in much of the Midwest. They form a large frame, and the neighbourhoods fill it in.

关于地图
Urbandale Map Poster & Print
Urbandale is a suburb on the north-west side of Des Moines, Iowa. Its map combines two very American patterns. The first is the square grid of section-line roads laid out across the prairie long ago. The second is the curving streets, loops and cul-de-sacs of later subdivisions filling in the squares between them.
Interstates 35 and 80, which share a route here, cross the eastern part of the city, and their interchanges are some of the largest shapes on the map. Office parks and retail sit along the main arterials. Further west, newer neighbourhoods reach into what was recently farmland, and the edge of the city is still moving.
Urbandale is also home to Living History Farms, an open-air museum of Iowa's agricultural past, which occupies a large area of open land within the city. An Urbandale map poster shows suburb and prairie together: tidy residential curves, arterial lines a mile apart, and green space kept in the middle.

Subdivision curves
Within each square, residential streets wind in loops and cul-de-sacs, which gives the map a soft, organic texture between the straight lines.
Living History Farms
The open-air farm museum keeps a large area of open land within the suburban pattern. It appears on the map as a calm open space.

为什么选Urbandale
一张有意义的地图
Urbandale is where many families put down roots, bought a first house or raised children. A map of the neighbourhood makes a natural housewarming or anniversary gift, and its clean pattern fits easily into modern interiors.
Add your street, the year you moved in, or the coordinates of your house to the title lines, and choose one of five styles. HD files in six sizes, including 18×24″ and 24×36″, are $9, and framed prints ship from local partners.
