关于地图
Vihari Map Poster & Print
Vihari, also written Vehari, is a district town in southern Punjab, Pakistan, on the flat plain between the Sutlej and the lands around Multan. Like many towns in this part of Punjab, it grew with the canal colonies, when irrigation turned dry land into productive farmland, and its layout carries that planned origin.
From above, the town's main roads run straight, and blocks are arranged in a fairly regular order, with newer housing schemes added around the edges. Beyond them the countryside is a patchwork of rectangular fields fed by canals and distributaries. The region is known as one of Pakistan's important cotton-growing areas.
A Vihari map poster makes the most of this geometry: straight roads, regular blocks and a web of watercourses spreading across level ground. In black and white it looks almost like a survey drawing, which fits a town whose shape was planned from the beginning.

Canal network
Irrigation canals and smaller channels cross the surrounding plain in long lines, and they are what make the region's farming possible.
Field patchwork
Rectangular farm plots cover the land around the town, so the edges of the poster are filled with a steady, repeating texture.
