Walled old town
The medieval core forms a compact oval of narrow lanes. Parts of the old walls and towers still trace its edge, and the outline stands out clearly on paper.

关于地图
Weil der Stadt Map Poster & Print
Weil der Stadt is at the edge of the Black Forest foothills, about twenty-five kilometres west of Stuttgart, in the valley of the small Würm river. For centuries it was a free imperial city, and its compact medieval core still reads clearly on a map. It forms a tight oval of lanes, once enclosed by walls and towers, with the large parish church near the centre.
The town is best known as the birthplace of the astronomer Johannes Kepler, born here in 1571. His statue stands on the market square, and a museum occupies the house connected with his family. Around the historic oval, twentieth-century housing spreads out over the gentle slopes, and a railway line on the S-Bahn network connects the town to the Stuttgart region.
A Weil der Stadt map poster frames this contrast well: the dense, walled centre surrounded by the looser curves of later neighbourhoods, with the river running through the valley. It makes a thoughtful gift for anyone interested in the history of science. It also suits people from the Stuttgart area who know the town as a weekend walk.

Kepler's birthplace
Johannes Kepler was born here in 1571. The market square, where his statue stands, sits at the centre of the historic street pattern.
Würm valley
The small Würm river runs through the valley below the town. Its course and the rail line beside it give the map a soft diagonal accent.
