关于地图
Whitehall Map Poster & Print
Whitehall is a small city just east of downtown Columbus, completely surrounded by the larger urban area. The map shows a compact, largely postwar residential grid, with rows of modest houses on regular streets. Broad commercial corridors, notably East Broad Street and East Main Street, cross the city from west to east and carry traffic between Columbus and the eastern suburbs.
Much of Whitehall's growth came in the years after the Second World War, and the Town and Country Shopping Center that opened here in the late 1940s is often cited as one of the country's early suburban shopping centres. Nearby, the large Defense Supply Center Columbus occupies a big area of land near the city's northern edge, and John Glenn Columbus International Airport is not far to the north.
A Whitehall map poster captures an inner-ring suburb in a very clear form: short, regular blocks, a few wide avenues and the large shapes of institutional and commercial land around them. It is a modest map, but a very readable one, and it shows how mid-century American suburbs were shaped around the car.

Broad and Main
Two wide commercial avenues run east and west across Whitehall, forming the strongest lines on the map and linking it with Columbus and the eastern suburbs.
Large sites
Big institutional and commercial parcels, including the defense supply complex nearby, appear as broad open shapes that contrast with the fine residential grid.

为什么选Whitehall
一张有意义的地图
For people who grew up in Whitehall, bought a first house there or still drive down East Broad Street every day, a map of it holds real meaning. It fits well in a kitchen or entryway, and it makes a thoughtful gift for relatives who have moved away.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a street, a family name or the year that matters. Pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, to fit the tone of the room.
