Xaxim Map Poster & Print
Xaxim is in the west of Santa Catarina, a region of rolling hills, small rivers and productive farmland. The town is named after the xaxim, the tree fern once common in the southern Brazilian forests. On a map, its streets reflect the terrain: some run straight along ridges, others curve down into valleys, and the whole plan has an uneven, organic outline.
The town sits close to Chapecó, the main city of the region, and shares its agricultural economy. Main roads link the two and connect Xaxim to the wider network of the west. These routes give the map its backbone, while residential streets fill the spaces between with a denser, looser pattern.
