关于地图
Yeola Map Poster & Print
Yeola lies in the north of Maharashtra, in Nashik district, on the level land of the Deccan plateau. The town is a compact cluster of narrow streets and closely built houses, and it quickly gives way to fields. Roads leave in several directions toward nearby towns, and small watercourses cross the countryside in winding lines.
Yeola is known across India for Paithani, the silk saris with gold-bordered designs, and many households in the town work in weaving. It also has a place in modern history: in 1935 B. R. Ambedkar made a public declaration here that he would not die a Hindu, a step toward his later conversion to Buddhism.
A Yeola map poster centres on the tightly packed old town, where the lanes of weaving households form a fine, detailed pattern. Around it, the farmland opens out into broad plots and scattered tracks. In monochrome the contrast between the dense centre and the open plateau gives the design both focus and room to breathe.
