Bābai is a town in the Narmadapuram district of Madhya Pradesh, in central India, in the broad farming country south of the Vindhya hills and north of the Narmada valley. From above, it is a compact settlement: a dense cluster of streets at the meeting of several roads, with fields surrounding it on every side.
The street pattern is organic. Lanes wind around older blocks in the centre, and newer houses stretch along the roads leading out of town.
