Bilicenii Vechi is a village in the Sîngerei district of northern Moldova, in the gently rolling farmland of the Bălți steppe region. Like many Moldovan villages, it is laid out along a road and a shallow valley. Houses face the street, and long, narrow garden plots run back from each one toward the fields.
This linear pattern is common across the region and reflects generations of small-scale farming. Orchards, vegetable plots and vineyards sit behind the houses, and wider arable land starts where the village ends. The name, meaning Old Bilicenii, points to its relationship with a nearby village of the same base name.
