The Tigris
The river meanders across a wide floodplain near the town, its bends and gravel banks forming the most organic line on an otherwise orderly map.

Bismil Map Poster & Print
Bismil lies in southeastern Turkey, east of Diyarbakır, on the broad, fertile plain of the upper Tigris. The river passes close to the town, winding across a wide floodplain, and the land around it is flat and extensively farmed. On a map Bismil reads as a compact urban area set among long, straight field boundaries and rural roads.
Agriculture shapes both the economy and the landscape here, with irrigated cultivation spreading across the plain. The town is the centre of a populous district of Diyarbakır Province, with markets, schools and services for the surrounding villages. Its streets have expanded steadily in recent decades, with newer blocks growing outward from the older centre.
A Bismil map poster pairs a compact town plan with the looser curves of the Tigris and its floodplain. In black and white the contrast between the tight streets and the flowing river is clear and restful, making it a strong print for anyone with roots in the region.

Irrigated plain
Fields and canals spread in long rectangles around Bismil, forming a quiet geometric background that frames the built-up area on every side.
Growing town
The older centre is compact, with newer apartment districts adding wider streets and larger plots around its edges as the town has grown.
