Carmen de Areco Map Poster & Print
Carmen de Areco lies in the north of Buenos Aires Province, in the farming heartland west of the capital. From above, the town follows the familiar Argentine layout: a regular grid of square blocks arranged around a main plaza. The edges are sharp and straight where the urban blocks meet the fields.
The surrounding landscape is almost perfectly flat, divided by rural roads into large rectangles of cropland and pasture. The Areco river area adds a rare meandering line to that geometric countryside. Beyond the town's edge, the pattern of the pampas extends in every direction with few interruptions.
A Carmen de Areco map poster reduces the town to its most characteristic form, a neat grid in open space. The plaza sits at the centre, the blocks repeat outwards and the roads lead off towards neighbouring towns. It makes for a quietly geometric design.

Areco waterway
The winding course of the Areco river area interrupts the straight lines of the countryside. It adds a gentle curve to the composition.
Farmland checkerboard
Straight rural roads divide the surrounding pampas into large fields. On the map they extend the town's geometry out to the horizon.
