Crucecita Map Poster & Print
La Crucecita is the main town of Bahías de Huatulco, on the Pacific coast of Oaxaca. It was developed in the 1980s as a planned community to house and serve the people working in the new Huatulco resort area. As a result, its map looks more ordered than many Mexican coastal towns, with regular blocks and a clear centre.
At its heart is the zócalo, bordered by the town's church, whose ceiling is painted with a large image of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Around the plaza, streets of shops, restaurants and homes extend in a grid, while roads lead down to the marina at Santa Cruz and the chain of bays along the coast.
A Crucecita map poster frames the town between green hills and the sea. The compact grid sits inland, the coastline breaks into coves and headlands to the south, and the roads connecting the bays trace curves along the hilly shore.
