Dasheng is a town in Shandong province in eastern China, in the uplands at the centre of the province where the plains give way to low mountains. On a map it appears as a compact settlement with a main road through its centre. Blocks of housing and workshops line either side, and farmland, streams and hills surround it.
Like many towns in rural Shandong, Dasheng serves the villages around it as a centre for markets, schools and services. The map reflects that role.
